IN LOVE WITH LIFE.
I want to share this with you because it feels like the most profound experience and though words may not do it justice and the emotions I feel when I am blessed with the presence of a mummy whale outside my window will just come across as black and white words written on a computer screen - I just have to let you all know.
The closest she has come yet and she has stayed with me, waving and blowing through her blow hole. Right there. Right outside my window. Swimming away and then coming back. When I tell her I love her, I get a wave.
To then see a smaller blowhole making an appearance - well, that stopped me in time - so silently still.
I had been told the whales come here to have their babies - witnessing it! Nothing beats that.
As I child I used to be able to smell a ladybird in a 5 meter radius. Odd, I know. As a grown up, the best connection I have had with the animal kingdom to date is with flies; Seemingly always leaving the room when I request them to do so.
This trumps all of that I think.
Connected deeply with a whale.
Incredible!
This illustration, inspired by my living room window's eye candy, is available to purchase - alongside other sea creature themed prints.
